This looks kind of interesting. Crazy Egg provides a graphical layer directly over your site to show you where and how often people are clicking. There are two modes—overlay (shown here) and heatmap. The service requires some script installed on your site, then you engage in "sessions" to view the activity. It's not live yet, but you can find out more on their site.
