Video Highlights From Blog's Eye View Presentation

Vignettes from Blog's Eye View presentation given at the Digitas office in NY in October 2006.  The full presentation was just over an hour and a half including Q+A, but this will give you a flavor of how it went. Looking back at the video, it amazes me that Digitas was open to the idea of inviting both bloggers and members of the press to the event which was initially just for internal purposes.

Enjoy.

Today, David Armano posted video highlights from his Blog's Eye View presentation at Digitas NY. I fully expected my intro to be left on the cutting room floor (his presentation itself was chock full of fantastic content), but I was pleased to see (hon... [Read More]

David,

I love it! And now, I also know your voice :)

I would love to post that video on my blog, anyway to get the file?

And when are you coming to present to your West Coast colleagues?
Eric

David,
I can tell may of us (outside the US or who couldn't make it to the presentation) are going to like this post! Thanks a lot! : )

I meant "many of us"... of course!

Thanks for putting this up! Nice to finally put the "presenting" with the presentation I've seen. Terrific. And, yes David, this is my first official "comment" on your blog. Not the lurker any longer.

D- Great video of a great presentation. I'm honored that my intro wasn't left on the cutting room floor! My only regret is that I didn't wear a wicked cool leather motorcycle jacket. ;-) GV

Thank you David for posting this video. I wanted to use it as well, would you mind if I put it up on youtube?
On a side note I really want to thank you for opening my eyes to the world of blogging. I’ve been working in interactive communication for the past 4 years and knew what a blog was but it was really reading through yours that got me hooked and motivated enough to start up. Now I’m playing around with my own (http://www.stephan.lukac.com/blog) and also managing the blog for the McGill Business School (http://managementblog.mcgill.ca).

It’s a great way to expound and develop your ideas, but perhaps best of all it’s a repository of them. I don’t know about you but there are times when you come up with a good concept, read a good article, or find a great ad and you want to remember it and share it with others. In the past I relegated all of these ideas to a folder on my computer and they sit there… Maybe once on a blue moon I might go back to visit them but they are just gathering cyber dust. Blogs have opened up the world as a way to document the ideas that I have and to share them and have them critiqued by others. So thank you and please continue the great work, you are an inspiration to us all.
Finally I had another request, how do you develop all those images that you use? Do you use illustrator and make it all from scratch or do you have another program that allows you to make all of these great concepts come to life?

Eric R, if the video helped you de-lurk, it was all worth it.

Eric K, I'll look into it

GV, you look better in a suit than I do :)

Stephan, I probably can't stop this from ending up on YouTube. :)

And you make a good point about blogs being a great repository for you ideas—I wrote that very thing in the "group post" I did with Eric Kintz from HP and some other execs.

As far as the Graphics, it's Illustrator mostly, sometimes photoshop and a lot of inspiration from the blogging community.

I'm so pleased you had this taped and posted this...'twas almost as good as seeing it in person (lucky me who lives in NY). Not only are you insightful but you're an engaging presenter...and now when I tell people that I have something to point to that proves it!

Way to go--and a highlight being able to meet you while you were in the Big Apple.

Keep the great stuff coming (know you will). Thanks for all you do to make us better bloggers, better marketers.

Nice work, David.

I do believe that your success can be attributed to more than the sum of your mechanics; you actually have a great deal of useful insight that is valuable in our industry.

While I'm a big advocate for (but a poor practitioner of) presenting thoughts clearly and succinctly, your ability to analyze the industry is just as important as your proclivity for participating in the blogosphere in the way you described.

Great job DA! I noticed when you asked about Seth, your reaction seemed to indicate that most of the people there didn't know who he was. As I've always thought, we get a bit insulated here in the blogosphere as to our importance and level of influence with non-bloggers. Your presentation was aimed at these people and as a tool to get them up to speed. Well done!

I know I'm late in this game, but I guess the long tail does work for something, and of course I actually arrived here via a MyBlogLog trip. Bravo for the presentation.
