Although since they say the new site is "coming in 2006", they don't have much time left. They'll have to launch this thing scary fast (sorry) if they want to keep their promise. :-)

It's sad that Boo.com has gone down as the worst dot-bust ever. Probably a futile attempt, yet I do feel like speaking up for them (if only because no one does).
During my Reebok days I remember sitting with Kaisha and Ernst (the founders) before they had money and their original business plan was not only sound, but made a lot of of sense (even to an old-economy buff like I was back then)
Only then the VC's came in and with them probably some of the least sensible money spenders I ever met (lead by Booz Allen and a number of ad-agencies). Project spun out of control and the rest is history.
I guess it's one of those where venture capital killed the entrepreneurial star.
BTW, this incarnation of Boo.com has been online for over a year now.

No kidding? Show's you how out of touch I am. :)
actually, I was a fan of Boo as well. Even used it in a few e-commerce case studies. So to Greg's pont 2006 is almost over. Boo better get Booing.

I remember discussing with the Gap.com team how to counter boo... Those were the days, sure feels like 1999!

Plus, two weeks ago I read about an analyst calling Google the "new Cisco." Shudders!
