Twitter 101

Twitter isn't for everyone just like Second Life, Blogging, MySpace, and wearing Crocs isn't for everyone.  BUT if you're interested in getting a better understanding of the technology and how it's used—why not listen to someone who actually uses it?  Matt Dickman has put a nice comprehensive video together that acts as a great "Twitter 101".  It won't convince you to use it.  But at least you'll understand why some do.

David -- I'm glad you found this useful. Like you said, it's may not convince people to start tweeting, but at least they'll know the 411. Thanks!

"...just like ...wearing Crocs isn't for everyone."

Nice bit of writing there, DA...!

: )

Thanks for the video...after trying Twitter and failing to find personal value, I now feel better that it wasn't something I overlooked...it just isn't for me.

As for the Crocs crack...now I have to break out some new footwear! :(

I tried it and found it useful, but have pretty much slowed down my usage as most of my friends just post their updates on Facebook and there's no real need to have updates on multiple services. However I can definitely see business uses for Twitter, or Twitter-like applications/widgets for media companies, restaurants, grocery stores, etc.

This is just what I've been looking for. We are trying to use Twitter to promote a baseball tournament with the idea of sending out real-time scores after each inning. However, I've been having trouble getting my phone registered...anyway, timely post for me.
