Blog of the Day: Pleasure & Pain

Picture_119
I first met Whitney Georgia Hess at Digitas about two years ago. We had the "pleasure" of collaborating on one of the most innovative projects I've had a chance to play a role in (a prototype for realizing a new way of getting an insurance quote online).  Whitney is currently the sole author and curator of a fine up and coming blog called "Pleasure & Pain".

Pleasure & Pain covers the worlds of interaction design, technology and life as viewed by Whitney.  She'll often analyze what makes an experience great or not.  Check out her post on 9 Reasons Why I Love the Roomba Whitney will also occasionally do in-depth evaluations such as her Bloglines vs. Google Reader where she methodically breaks down the pros and cons of each service.

Pleasure & Pain is a relatively new blog and Whitney is a new voice in the blogosphere.  She started her blog this past January and it's been evolving rapidly.  I predict good things for it—it's definitely worth checking out.  Previous blogs of the day have been Conversation Agent, Disambiguity, Innovation Playground, and even Adaptive Path as it first launched.  See all blog of the day entries here.

Hey David, great job with your blogs of the day. Wonder if I've introduced you to this blog, Dr4Ward, the brainchild of a professor at Alfred University. He's new to the blogosphere but picking it up like a champ. Stop over and see what you think, www.dr4ward.com

Wow, David. I am incredibly honored. What a great gift to wake up to on a Sunday morning!

Your praise means a lot to me, and your support will no doubt keep me on my toes. I hope to be a fresh and interesting voice on User Experience, so if you find that I'm getting dull or straying off topic, be sure to nudge me.

Instead I hope you'll find that I offer a new perspective and that I'm not afraid to speak my mind. Having worked with me, I'm guessing you know my personality :)

To everyone else out there reading this, come on over! I really want my blog to be a place for conversation, so don't hesitate to comment. I may have strong opinions, but I'm well aware that they aren't the only ones, and I love nothing more than a heated (but respectful) argument.

David, thank you again! Looking forward to seeing you soon. You're the best.

Thanks for pointing this one out David. You are right, she is insightful and a good read.

I went the other way and came from Whitney's blog here - and I am glad that I did. Much here for me as founder of www.bigwhitewall.com - the online emotional health specialist. This is a fantastic site!
