Conversation by Design: Everything I Know About Blogging
I often get e-mails that ask me about blogging and sharing what I know. There's no need for private e-mails. It's all here. Everything that's worked for me on this blog is in this presentation. You can even download it from here. Good luck designing your own conversations. It's hard work, but worth it.

Conversation architect? I've never really been sold on the architect title - there's design and ego and the whole crucible of style thing. What about a good old ringleader or rabble rouser? The guy in the neighborhood that makes sure everyone gets out once and a while for beer, the gal at the lunch table that smooths over those awkward moments when world views collide, the buddies that showed up for dinner and left stories behind that people still tell. Also I think you missed a big part of the finding voice thing - the why. Don't be a conversation architect if you don't really know why you're doing it. Is it about selling stuff, practicing writing, a hobby, because twittering seems cool, it's a good way to get more email, as a mechanism for self-expression, yadda yadda. All this will drive voice and consistency...

Bold, did you see slide 27 where I say "find your passion"? I think that answers your point about the "why".
Also, "conversation architect" is meant to be a frame of mind. As in, facilitate conversations vs. one way monologue. But some folks don't like the term, which is fine with me.
Also to your point, my emphasis on not referring to yourself as a blogger speaks to the "why" as well.
