Here's a brief thought from the sky. The mom wasn't particularly nice when asking for assistance in getting her bags placed in the overhead compartment. The flight attendant wasn't particularly helpful and played it by the rules. Then mom lost her temper and said a few nasty things.
The flight attendant was "right" to have mom, her babies and her elderly mother escorted off the plane. And that's nearly what it came down to. But it didn't. After a delay, cooler heads prevailed and mom was allowed to stay on.
But the opportunity was missed for both. For mom, who was clearly in a stressful situation, that's exactly when you need to be your most respectful--you always catch more bees with honey. For the flight attendant, it was an opportunity to bend the rules a little to help out a fellow human being.
Both missed the opportunity to show the better side of humanity and it's a shame. Better luck next time.
